Strong Presence for Psi Beta at APS in May

Psi Beta will have a strong presence at the American Psychological Society (APS) Annual Conference May 26 through May 29 in Chicago. Psi Beta will be sponsoring the Carol Tracy Distinguished Lecture which will be facilitated by Laura Bittner and Heather LaCost, both are former Presidents of the Psi Beta National Council. Laura and Heather will be speaking on Grade Expectations: What Faculty Can Do to Combat Student Entitlement in the Classroom.

In addition to Heather and Laura’s lecture, Psi Beta will be hosting a panel discussion on The Impact of Honor Society Membership and Undergraduate Research on Perseverance in Community Colleges. The discussion will be moderated by Dr. Bryan Gerber, Midwest Region Vice President, and consist of four former community college students all of whom have either obtained additional degrees or are in the process of doing so. Heather and Laura are likely to join the panel as well.

All involved are excited to raise the profile of Psi Beta at this important Conference and hope to network vigorously to spread the word on the benefits of Psi Beta membership.
