Important Psi Beta Policy Changes

Membership Eligibility Raised from 3.0 to 3.25 – The National Council recently amended Psi Beta’s bylaws to reflect a higher GPA, 3.25, for membership eligibility. The purpose of this change was to keep Psi Beta in good standing with the Association of College Honor Societies (ACHS). ACHS regulates America’s honor societies and certifies their legitimacy. Psi Beta is a proud member of ACHS. The 3.25 GPA requirement became effective on January 1st, 2013. The overall membership eligibility requires are: 3.25 GPA or a cumulative GPA that falls within the top 35% of the student body (whichever is higher) based upon a minimum of 12 college-level degree applicable courses, and completion of a college psychology course with a B or higher.

Pay First PolicyEffective on July 1st, induction order shipments of new member certificates, ID cards, and pins will not be shipped until receipt of payment. Most chapters already submit payment immediately with their orders. Other chapters will need to prepare for this change.

Reminder: Please verify each student’s GPA by reviewing transcripts and collect payment prior to submitting an invoice for induction materials. The addition and removal of students after invoice submission will delay your shipment.
