Great News! New Psi Beta Chapter Websites This Fall!

Great news! This fall, Psi Beta will provide free Psi Beta chapter websites to all chapters. A website template will be available to each chapter to use as a template for customizing your very own Psi Beta chapter website. Customization is easy and written step-by-step instructions and training videos will be provided upon sign-up.

If your chapter is interested in setting up a customized chapter website we encourage you to discuss the following items at your next Psi Beta meeting:

  • Discuss this opportunity with your chapter advisor.
  • Determine if your chapter would like to customize a website for your Psi Beta chapter.
  • Identify one to two members who will serve as your chapter webmaster.
  • The webmaster can work with the chapter historian, photographer, and other officers to decide what to include on the chapter website.
  • To keep things orderly, only the webmaster(s) will be provided a password that will allow him or her to post items on the chapter website.
  • The webmaster should be a good writer. A person who knows about and uses the spell checking feature provided by word processers.

It is recommended that your chapter elects two webmasters who are at least one year apart in projected graduation dates, so you continue to have someone in your chapter who knows how to edit your site at all times. Please refrain from having more than two editors of the website as this will help with technical troubleshooting should you need it.

Students who write articles or gather information for categories (e.g., ”News & Events”) should type everything in a Word document and provide an electronic copy of that document for the webmaster so he/she can upload or copy/paste that information into the online website template.

Take a sneak peak at the website template, for inspiration. Assigning jobs and gathering chapter photos, meeting minutes, and any other information you would like to share about your chapter will get your chapter off to a great start when building your website.
