Psi Beta Events at Recent WPA Convention

In collaboration with the Western Psychological Association, Psi Beta presented the following events at the 92nd Annual Convention of the Western Psychological Association held in Burlingame, CA from April 26th through 29th:

• Psi Beta Diversity Workshop – Thursday, April 26th from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. in the Bayside room. This workshop, led by Fernando Ortiz (Santa Ana College), was open to all students interested in learning about the role of cultural diversity in the field of psychology. As part of the workshop, students participated in empowering leadership activities, learned about graduate school, and other academic and skill development opportunities.

• Psi Beta Poster Feedback Session – Friday, April 27th from 8:00 to 9:30 a.m. in Grand Peninsula D. This was an opportunity for Psi Beta students to present their research and to answer questions about the research that they conducted. Many people stopped by to see the fabulous work completed by these early researchers.

• Psi Beta Chapter Exchange – Saturday, April 28th from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. in Sandpebble AB. The chapter exchange provided an opportunity for chapters to share their successes and to address challenges they may have faced over the past year with topics including recruitment, fundraising, and other club activities. Light refreshments were provided and students were encouraged to present a brief synopsis of research they had completed within the last year.

Psi Beta members and advisors also attended the Psi Chi Leadership Conference held on Saturday, April 28th from 10:30 a.m. to 12 noon in Sandpebble AB.
