Synergy ’13 – A National Psychology Conference for Students!

Synergy 2013 will take place on October 4th and 5th at Cedar Crest College (Friday, October 4th) and Lehigh Carbon Community College (Saturday, October 5th).  Both campuses are located in the Lehigh Valley region of Pennsylvania. This event is co-sponsored by Psi Beta, Psi Chi, Cedar Crest College and Lehigh Carbon Community College. Synergy ’13 is a coordinated effort – bringing together two campuses, Cedar Crest College and Lehigh Carbon Community College to plan, coordinate and evaluation a national psychology conference for students at 2-year and 4-year institutions.  In addition, this year there will be a limited number of registrations available for high school students interested in psychology. Representatives from over 20 different colleges and universities will present on a diverse schedule of topics.  Students will have an opportunity to present their research as well.

Earn Leadership and Career Badges – Students can choose from multiple sessions and are eligible to earn badges that indicate their participation in leadership or career tracks.

Present Research – Students who have completed research are welcome to submit a proposal to present their research in a 20 minute presentation.  For each session, two students will be scheduled to present their research, followed by a 5 minute question and answer period.  Proposal Guidelines for Research Presentations:

  • Research presentations are opportunities for students to present their own research on any topic in psychology.
  • Two research presentations will be assigned to each session.
  • Presenters will be allotted 20 minutes in which to present their research and then 5 minutes for questions from the audience.
  • Research presentations will be in rooms equipped with a computer, document camera, DVD and video player, and a projector system.
  • Each proposal for a research presentations should be double-spaced, and contain the following:
    • A title that indicates clearly the topic to be discussed.
    • The name(s) and institutional affiliation(s) of the presenter(s)
    •  Postal and email address for each presenter.
    • A clear, 150 word summary of the research topic.
