Dear Psi Beta family,

During these uncertain times due to the COVID 19 virus, we wanted to let you know that your health and safety are our top priority. While policies may differ across businesses, campuses, and even states, the WHO, the CDC, and the NHC of the People’s Republic of China have recommended guidelines including social distancing, regular hand washing, and staying home when sick. The American Psychological Association offers tips for staying healthy physically and emotionally.

Closures of schools and businesses can be anxiety-provoking and lead to a multitude of emotions. Please engage in self-care and do what you can to support the wellness of those in your community. Be sure to use the student health center on your campus for important physical and mental health resources. Psi Beta will continue to operate and process memberships, and currently, award deadlines will remain the same. Please check our Psi Beta website for updates, along with our Psi Beta spring newsletter (the newsletter will go out on April 15).

Psi Beta Meetings – Please follow the guidelines instituted by your campus for meetings. To your members, be sure to communicate about semester events, including meetings, inductions, and fundraisers. Consider holding virtual meetings through Zoom of Google hangouts. Keep in touch with your chapter so that students feel connected.

Psi Beta Inductions – Please follow the guidelines instituted by your campus. You may choose to hold your induction virtually through resources such as Zoom or Google hangout or postpone your induction to a later date. Let inductees know that even if there is not an official on-campus induction ceremony if they applied and were accepted into Psi Beta that their membership will not be affected and that they will still receive their certificates.

New Member Certificates and Pins – Psi Beta National will continue to send batches of new membership certificates in a single mailing to your chapter’s primary advisor. If youmust bypass having a face-to-face induction ceremony this spring, please arrange a way for your new members to obtain their certificates and lapel pins once everything returns to

Psi Beta Online – Advisors and students can stay in touch with Psi Beta national through Instagram (#psibetanational), Facebook and Linkedin. Consider sharing how your chapter is staying in touch with members with our national office, through social media, or through a newsletter submission.

Please take care of yourselves and feel free to reach out to Psi Beta with any questions that you have.
