Midwest Region Report

By
Dr. Bryan Gerber, Psi Beta Midwest Region Vice President

Greetings Psi Beta Midwest Region,

I hope this finds everyone’s fall semester moving along smoothly and your Psi Beta Chapters doing well.  This may seem early but time goes by so quickly. I want to remind everyone about the Midwest Psychological Association Annual Meeting coming this spring. The MPA Annual Meeting will be held from April 11th – April 13th (2019) at the Palmer House Hilton in downtown Chicago.

I have had the great pleasure of taking students to the conference over the past five years and it is an unforgettable experience for them.  The Psi Beta presence at MPA has increased over the years.  We now have an invited lecture, a student panel, and some outlets for socialization between Psi Beta advisors and students.  We invite the participation of more chapters, students, and advisors in this endeavor.  I will be following up with more information on the invited lecture as well as the topic for the student panel.  Please see the MPA flier and call for papers here.

On another note, we have a new website and have included tabs for advisor information.  Topics include ideas for induction, fund raising, research, and much more.  We hope to have these tabs populated by the end of the month.

As is always the case, do not hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns.  Definitely let me know any plans for MPA.
