I would like to describe an event hosted by the Psi Beta chapter at Mott Community College chapter in recognition of World Mental Health Day on October 10th. Our chapter held two events. The first event was distributing resources and information about mental health to students. A table was prepared with various brochures and pamphlets about mental health and places to seek treatment in the local community. Students at the table also handed out buttons and bracelets. The second event was held later in the evening. That event was a discussion hour about mental health recovery. Our invited a speaker spoke about immigrating to the United States and how she dealt depression. Over 50 people attended the event. As the advisor, I was very proud of our members as they took the lead by organizing the event. I have attached a few pictures from the event.
