OUR BIGGEST EVENT – THE ANNUAL SYMPOSIUM

This is a BIG DEAL! An all day event, bringing our campus some of the best minds from across Oklahoma and the United States, to come and share their knowledge with our students!

FIRST FRIDAY – PSYCHOLOGY CLUB MEETINGS

These meetings are to bring everyone on campus together to share something fun and informative. Meet new people and make new friends!

We have a variety of offerings to our students including information on internships, mental health services in our community, and how to be successful in doing research.

   Fundraisers – Christmas, Valentine’s Day, Easter – and FUN-raisers!!

We’ve been connecting with our campus through fun activities, we connect with our campus – students, faculty and staff, to help them know we are not just all about business!!

Big smiles on the winners of our Halloween Treat Hunt are glowing below……

Our members also get into the SPIRIT by decorating the halls of the Social Sciences Building for the Halloween decorating contest – we came in 3rd!!!!!

Clever ways that our members serve our campus community while also raising money to send our scholarship competitive students to conferences to present their research.

Scholarships and Conferences

There are a variety of scholarship opportunities available, both on our own campus, as well as through the Psi Beta National Office, and conferences. From Research to Community Service, to Honors Projects, and so much more.

Below are some of our students doing the events and activities that qualify them for everything from cash awards to certificates and recognition for your CV and college applications, to paid travel to present your research. There is so much to gain if you are willing to do the work!

Conferences like SWPA, OPA, Great Plains, Research Day at the Capitol and our own Symposium can offer many cash prize and scholarship opportunities.

And even rubbing elbows with our State Legislators in the House and Senate. Our Chapter Advisor, Dr. Fleming, was introduced on the House & Senate Floor as The Psychologist of the Day. Our own Senator Hall was so impressed with our Psi Beta President, Milena, that he bent the rules and insisted on introducing her as well! You just never know where you might go when you come along with us!!

BUT THERE IS STILL PLENTY OF TIME FOR SOME FUN TOO!!!

OUR MEMBERS ARE ALSO AWARDED FOR THEIR SERVICE TO OUR COMMUNITY – Our Secretary, Jennifer Byers, was awarded a check for $500 to recognize her efforts with the RSC Clothing Closet and Food Pantry.

National awards from the Psi Beta corporate level are given every year and our members & chapter have been honored to receive these scholarships and cash awards.

Internships

Are you looking for something to give you some practical knowledge, to go along with what you are learning in class, and give you some substance to both your resume and 4-year transfer applications? We are now offering the opportunity to our students for placements across the Metro…….
Internships are also a great way to earn some cash, through the stipends provided, as well as making new friendships with those who are also in the program.
