Psi Beta Involvement Develops Your Transferable Skills

Kimberley J. Duff, Ph.D., Psi Beta’s Past-President

As a Psi Beta national honor student, and a Psychology Club member, you practice and perfect many skills that will make you employable. Consider the transferable skills listed on the American Psychological Association’s Skillful Psychology Student.

As a Psi Beta student, brainstorm how you have practiced these skills during your time at your community college. Then list these skills, and how you developed them, on your resume, transfer applications, and scholarship applications. These are important skills that employers are looking for, that you have developed during your time as a Psi Beta student!

Read over the following table. Then write in how you have developed this skill during your time as a Psi Beta student. This can also be a club activity.
