Most psychology conferences (local, regional, and national) provide students with the opportunity to present their research in a poster session. Below are some instructions, templates, and other information on posters. Typically you must register for the conference, then apply to present at a poster session. The typical poster session lasts 50 minutes. During the poster session, you (or you and your co-authors) stand beside your poster and use your poster to explain your study to passersby. Having presented a poster at a conference is worth including on your CV or resume.
